I wanted to write my husband Kieran O’Hare a tune and the only thought I had for the composition of it was that it should be a tune that seemed to have no end. It had to feel as timeless as our relationship – and yes, I realize how corny this sounds, but it is so wonderfully true! Laughably, and yet appropriate to our sense of humor, this slow reel is not at all playable on the uilleann pipes in this key. Alas, I will have to spend the rest of my life playing it to him instead of giving it to him to play himself!
