    The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance.     Make your donation go further: a donation of €250 or more in any tax year is worth an additional 44.93% to ITMA. So for €50 more, ITMA can claim an additional €112.33 tax back from revenue.

    Irish-based donors can see their donations augmented by the State through the CHY3 form, which makes any donation above €250 worth €362.33 towards ITMA’s archival work, at no additional cost to you.

    ITMA is eligible for 501(c)3 donations, so for potential donors based in the USA, donating to ITMA can be a tax efficient way of making more and more archival material accessible to remote users.

    Buachaill na hAille was written in memory of my Grandad Dinny who grew up in The Naul, North County Dublin. I wrote him a polka as it reminded me of all the times we played some of his favourite tunes (which were polkas!) together and the happiness the music brought him. He passed away tragically in 2016 but when I play this tune I see him smiling in the middle of a session playing his accordion.
