When I was in secondary school, one day I was invited to play music in Ballyfin Demesne, a country house resort in Laois. I’ve been playing here regularly since then. It’s the most beautiful venue to perform in and it’s always a pleasure to play there. Even when the room is full of guests, the music always echoes through the space. Before it became the guesthouse it is now, it was a boarding school. My Dad went to school there at that time and my Mam and Dad got married there so it’s always been a special place for them too.
