My step-mother, Mary “Sis” Campbell Fahey was a champion Irish step dancer, then a dance teacher then an adjudicator until she retired in 2013. She was blessed with a perennially sunny disposition and was incredibly supportive of my musical endeavors. There was a book written by Kathleen Flanagan about Irish Dancing in Chicago in which Mary is mentioned, entitled “Steps in Time – The History of Irish Dance in Chicago”, 2009 and that felt like a great title for a tune dedicated to “Sis”.
