St. Gobnait’s Well is a slow reel with three parts. It felt better to me with the last part played twice. St Gobnait is the patron saint of bees and beekeeping. She founded a religious community for women in Baile Mhuirne where the holy well is situated. She dedicated her days to helping the sick and it has been speculated that she used honey as a healing aid. There is a prayer to St. Gobnait that goes as follows:
Go mbeannaí Dia dhuit, a Ghobnait Naofa,
Go mbeannaí Muire dhuit agus beannaím féin duit,
Is chugat-sa a thánag ag gearán mo scéil leat,
Is ag d’iarraigh leigheas ar son Dé ort.
