    The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance.     Make your donation go further: a donation of €250 or more in any tax year is worth an additional 44.93% to ITMA. So for €50 more, ITMA can claim an additional €112.33 tax back from revenue.

    Irish-based donors can see their donations augmented by the State through the CHY3 form, which makes any donation above €250 worth €362.33 towards ITMA’s archival work, at no additional cost to you.

    ITMA is eligible for 501(c)3 donations, so for potential donors based in the USA, donating to ITMA can be a tax efficient way of making more and more archival material accessible to remote users.

    The market town of Gort [words and music Joe Carey, adapted from an original poem by Peter Fahy], song

    This song started life as a poem by a local historian in Gort named Peter Fahy. On reading the poem the first time Joe realised that it would make for a lovely song, but that it would need to be changed and adapted first. He asked Peter’s permission to work on it and the song is now sung regularly at singing sessions.
