    The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.

    Make your donation go further: a donation of €250 or more in any tax year is worth an additional 44.93% to ITMA. So for €50 more, ITMA can claim an additional €112.33 tax back from revenue.

    Irish-based donors can see their donations augmented by the State through the CHY3 form, which makes any donation above €250 worth €362.33 towards ITMA’s archival work, at no additional cost to you.

    ITMA is eligible for 501(c)3 donations, so for potential donors based in the USA, donating to ITMA can be a tax efficient way of making more and more archival material accessible to remote users.

    Nicholas Carolan

    Nicholas Carolan comes from Drogheda, Co. Louth. Founding Director of ITMA and following his retirement in 2015 is now Director Emeritus. His distinguished career includes work as a broadcaster, publisher, researcher and writer, most notably as presenter of RTE programme ‘Come West Along the Road’. From 1977 to 1992 he was secretary of the Folk Music Society of Ireland, and lectured on Traditional Irish Music in Trinity college for a period of time. Although retired Nicholas continues to publish and carry out research on various topics of interest in Irish Traditional Music.
