A new position of Project Officer for the Christy Moore Collection at ITMA is opening to co-ordinate the development of an in-house public exhibition space for the personal archival collection of singer and songwriter Christy Moore, which he has generously donated to ITMA. This position is available thanks to funding from The Heritage Council.
The Irish Traditional Music Archive / Taisce Cheol Dúchais Éireann (ITMA) is the national public reference archive and resource centre for the traditional song, instrumental music, and dance of Ireland. Based at 73 Merrion Square, Dublin, ITMA holds the largest collection of Irish traditional music, song, and dance in existence. ITMA is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee and is primarily funded by the Arts Council of Ireland, the OPW, The Heritage Council, and Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
One of Ireland’s most celebrated singers and songwriters, Christy Moore has generously donated his personal archival collection to the Irish people, and to the State, through the Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA). Throughout his life, Christy has amassed an extensive multi-media collection comprising handwritten songbooks, setlists, research notes, correspondence, sheet music, photographs, artefacts, posters, gig programmes, commercial & non-commercial sound recordings, printed books and digital audio recordings. The materials span from the 1970s to the 2020s.
ITMA now wants to make this collection accessible to the public through an in-person exhibition in its home in 73 Merrion Square. A new position of Project Officer for the Christy Moore Collection is opening to lead the development of this in-house public exhibition space, co-ordinate archival work, manage the curation, design, and supply of materials, and liaise with Christy and his manager to prepare for a public launch in January 2026.
The successful candidate will form an integral part of ITMA’s administrative team that enables the organisation to develop its role as one of the key national bodies for the preservation of Ireland’s musical heritage.
This new position is generously funded by The Heritage Council.

Reporting to: Director (CEO) of ITMA
Purpose: To develop an exhibition space for The Christy Moore Collection in 73 Merrion Square.
ITMA is entering an exciting phase of growth with the development of a new exhibition space. We are seeking a highly motivated, organised, and diligent individual who will bring energy and enthusiasm to our team. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate examples from their past experience, work, and/or training which highlight their capability and desire for this role.

The post will be offered as a 1 year fixed-term contract with a 1-month probation period. The salary offered for the position will be €32,391.
This position will be based at ITMA, 73 Merrion Square, Dublin 2, Ireland.
