Speaking about the forthcoming event, ITMA Director Liam O’Connor said: “Tommie Potts was one of our most significant and unique traditional artists. It is a source of great satisfaction for the Archive that we are now, in association with NCH, staging the fifth Drawing from the Well concert in the series, platforming a group of artists who have individually connected with Tommie and his extraordinary musical legacy. The collections of Irish music song and dance housed in ITMA serve as a continuing inspiration to our contemporary artists as is the case with the wonderful recordings of Tommie now part of ITMA’s rich musical treasure trove. We will use the spoken word as part of the concert presentation and we are delighted to have the great historian Dónal Fallon as part of the line-up.”
