The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.
Ar Scáth a Chéile is a project from ITMA and Trad is Amach highlighting traditional artists who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community.

In November 2023, ITMA welcomed Niall Coakley, Máire Úna Ní Bheaglaoich, Mick McCabe, Claire Sherry and Kieran Munnelly into the archive to record some tunes for playlists on ITMA’s website.
ITMA and Trad is Amach look forward to building out this project in the coming years to feature more musicians in the LGBTQ+ community and continue to recognise the rich contributions they make to the tradition.
