from Compositions by Connie O’Connell
During the Oireachtas which was held in Cork in 1985 a great friend of mine, Déaglán Tallon, got first prize for a newly composed song as Gaeilge.
The following day I convinced him that in the excitement that ensued he had torn my jacket. Déaglán wholeheartily believed this and was very concerned and anxious over his misdemeanour. When I admitted my practical joke he was very amused and said it would be a great name for a tune. He was right!
