from Compositions by Martin Hayes
The Maghera Mountain was composed when I was about 16 years of age and was kind of a dare that resulted after I had suggested to my father that writing a tune wasn’t very difficult thing to do. He asked me how come I didn’t have any tunes if it was so easy. The result is the Maghera Mountain which initially didn’t have a name but was later named by Martin Connolly when he chose to put it on his first solo accordion album.
