The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.
In 1973 Michael travelled to the USA with fiddle player Pee Fitzpatrick. The trip was for the purpose of visiting Pee’s brother Mick & family, and also to visit his own sister Josephine. Josephine has lived in Stanford, Connecticut since she emigrated from Aughavas.
During the trip Michael made a number of recordings, some of which can be heard in this playlist. They include Mike Flynn and Charlie Mulvihill.
