    The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.

    Help ensure that the well of Irish music, song and dance is preserved for present and future generations.

    Donations of any level help ITMA digitise, preserve and offer free universal access to valuable materials that would otherwise be lost.

    The support of donors ensures ITMA can deliver an increasingly better service. Without private support, the transformative year we experienced in 2023 would not have been possible.

    Make your donation go further: a donation of €250 or more in any tax year is worth an additional 44.93% to ITMA. So for €50 more, ITMA can claim an additional €112.33 tax back from revenue.

    Irish-based donors can see their donations augmented by the State through the CHY3 form, which makes any donation above €250 worth €362.33 towards ITMA’s archival work, at no additional cost to you.

    ITMA is eligible for 501(c)3 donations, so for potential donors based in the USA, donating to ITMA can be a tax efficient way of making more and more archival material accessible to remote users.

    Photographs of Donegal fiddle players by Rik Walton

    Originally from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Rik Walton has spent a lifetime photographing music and theatre all over the world. In the early 2010s he lived in South-West Donegal and recorded the music he found in that community with his camera. The selection of images presented here are of Donegal fiddler’s performances at the Glencolmcille Folk Village. For more information on Rik and his images see https://www.rikwalton.com
