This thesaurus was developed in part fulfillment of a Master’s in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) at University College, Dublin (UCD).
The version presented here, v. 0.2, is available for reference only and subject to change. The URIs used on the link below are temporary.
The thesaurus is displayed in two formats, an alphabetical index and a hierarchy.
The alphabetical index includes the following information. Each one is hyperlinked and will bring you directly to the term itself.
- Term title (e.g. Classes)
- BT: Broader Term
- NT: Narrower Term
- RT: Related Term
- TT: Top Term
- CN: Change Note
- SN: Scope Note
- UF: Use For
For example, this is the entry for the term Classes.
Classes
- UF : tutorials, courses, workshops
- SN : Use relevant term from instruments, music, song, dance, language etc. to define subject of the class
- BT : Education
- CN : First entry
- TT : Operational Frameworks
- NT : Masterclass
Non-preferred terms are presented in alphabetical order with a strike-through, and instructions on which term to use instead.

The hierarchical index shows each of the 21 facets in the thesaurus, and the terms that it holds. Each term is hyperlinked to the alphabetical index.
